Weezie's, Toronto

I'm back in Tdot again! I drove down in the morning, and made it just in time to join CK for dinner.

Tonight, we chose Weezie's, a small restaurant on King Street East. Weezie's reminded me of Bunker, a restaurant we went to in Queenstown, New Zealand. It was cozy, intimate, casual, and upscale all at the same time.

When we walked in, all the tables were either occupied or reserved. Luckily, we were given the option to eat at the bar, which we did.

We started with some really good bread, and for apps, I ordered mixed greens and pine nuts with herbs, and a lemon vinaigrette.

My main was a pan fried sole with brown butter, capers, lemon, baby broccoli, almonds, and anchovy vinaigrette. This dish was sensational. The sole was prepared perfectly, and it just melted in my mouth. The capers went really well with the fish, and were not too salty.

CK ordered the steak frites, medium rare striploin with garlic and herbs served with garlic mayonnaise on the side. The steak was great, and the fries were well seasoned.

For dessert, we ordered the profiteroles. Instead of whipped cream in the middle, it was ice cream. The pastries were drizzled with chocolate sauce.

We really enjoyed our meal and this is a great place to relax after a long work week.
