The Fish Store, Toronto

OH MY GOD...I just had the best fresh fish sandwich ever! CK and I ventured to College Street today, and stopped in at The Fish Store, a tiny little shop that sells fresh fish. They are known for making one of the best sandwiches in town, and I couldn't agree more.

You pick your fish from their fresh iced selection, and they season and grill the fish right there in front of you. The Fish Store offers 15 types of fresh fish sandwiches, and for $3.99, you can double the amount of fish in your sandwich. Their Portuguese buns are from across the street at Golden Wheat Bakery, and are slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...perfect for biting into a sandwich.

My lunch started with a Manhattan chowder.

As per the owner's suggestion, I ordered the black cod sandwich. The fish was extremely fresh and it was seasoned perfectly. If you like white fish, get this sandwich...you won't be disappointed.

CK ordered the wild salmon sandwich, and he pretty much had the same comments.

The owners are incredibly polite and friendly, and they offer free gum at the end of your meal. Trust me, you'll need one.

If this place was open Sundays, I'd go back for another black cod sandwich tomorrow.

The fish sandwiches here are amazing. I try to pick one up for lunch whenever I have a chance. Good post.

I didn't know sandwiches can look that good...I will have to try it next time I visit Toronto.
